- Q: What is a “Generic” Supplier?
A: A “Generic” Supplier is used to store the Material costs that come from “generic” cost sources such as the R.S. Means, RemodelMax, or Craftsman’s Book sources. Those costs are generic (characteristic of or relating to a class or group of things) but not specific to you the user. You would use a generic cost only until you had better data to replace it with i.e. the cost you pay for a particular materials from one of your prefered Suppliers.
